Exporting tracking data?

#1

Hellooooo,

I am really hoping it is possible to do what I want.

basically i have tracked an object in a video (my hand) and now i want to be able to somehow extract the whole line path of my hand’s movement as a static path so I can put it in photoshop.

This is for a study of movement so you can see why i want to be able to do this

If anyone knows it would be fricking awesome, I have googled how to do it but found nothing.

Thanks!

Copy/paste will do. You’ll need a path in After Effetcs though.

Which bit exactly do I copy? I have tried copying the key frames of the tracker but then when i paste in illustrator for example I just get a load of numbers. Must I convert the tracker to a path first?

Thanks

Are you looking for something like tracking data? Are you not using the imagery of the video at all?

If a bitmap path is all you want, even by a screen shot of the comp with the tracker trajectory (provided in the pref you have it to last for a while) should do.
Or if particular is available you could parent its position to the tracker and have the particles life extended over a period so they are still in place when the whole motion is over.
As for a vector path though, just as scrimski mentioned the tracker position could be translated in path points if you create a new layer add a pen path and the copy the feature center keyframes from the 2d tracked footage and paste as mask path. This can then be pasted in illustrator as a path.
