Exporting Displacement Map

#1

Hi there, I’m sorta new to the displacement and sculpting on Zbrush and I was wondering why my export for the map was wonky. I got my model and UVed it in Maya and then took that OBJ and imported it into Zbrushed, sculpted it and whenever I export it out it looks like glitchy and pixely like this: http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y177/darkshadowlink9/beetle-DM0014698_u1_v0_zpsf33b99f8.jpg

Any thoughts on my this is happening?

check your texture map out in zbrush tools menu> texture map> create>check uvmap
your map you created in other, maya, cinema4d ,etc should show up as you created it in the other program. If it does not look right , , blocks of red , red lines etc, there is a problem! Check that your border has no uv’s touching the edge of map , some uv tools will expand the uv map right to edge, give the map a little border space! check the model in other program with geo checker if possible, make sure no extra edges, or points on top of one another, these sometimes don’t show up , in base model meshes, but when you take into zbrush will cause problems! The map should look like the one in maya but filled in with grey! then all ya have ta do is hit the top button apply paint from polypaint ,should fill in with paint! Hope this helps!
