You will need to use a different codec.

What is the purpose of your video? (Web, DVD, screen, handheld, etc.)?

Depending on the size and length of your video - that sounds about right for uncompressed video.

If you are trying to serve it up for web use - FLV, WMV or Quicktime h.264 work best. TMPG encoder is the best tool to convert items to WMV, MPG or AVI. Quicktime Pro is an excellent tool as well and you can buy plug-ins that will let you encode WMV from there. FLVs can be encoded from the Adobe Media encoder but I prefer On2. However - Flash 9 has the capability of playing h.264 Quicktimes so just go with what you are capabile of making.

If you are trying to author a DVD - MPEG is the way to go, usually the authoring tool you have will encode the MPEG for you and there are various settings to use. Just make sure your Uncompressed render follows standard DVD settings (is it 4:3 or 16:9, has it been sized to 720x480?) otherwise your burn will not be what you want.

DO NOT compress or encode a compressed video from AfterEffects - there is a sticky about this problem at the top of the forum… Read it and you will know why you shouldn’t.

I hope this points you in the right direction - but the question was rather open ended and honestly I could list every codec available etc., but that’s what the internet is for and I suggest you Google it.
