Event Poster

#1

Hey everybody!

I’m working on a poster for an event this upcoming weekend, but I can’t seem to get it quite right.
I have a bunch of different lamps - a few area, one point and a sun. Also, the bottom half area is dedicated for program and a logotype.

Would love to get some design feedback, but even better would be technical suggestions on improvements

Here’s one poster from last year which I like more but I’m not sure how to replicate its looks.

Not sure this is the right section for c&c, suggestion though would be to move those cubes on the left behind the text. Twist them a little to get depth. Maybe that green in front, Dj Ash?
Maybe make that musik i hötorgcity banner bigger and in front of everything…?

Maybe you could us a frog persepctive, I see you used bird perspective in last year one.
Not sure I helped you that much?

You’re absolutely right about the angle of both the perspective and the cubes, the problem is that the client specifically wanted both the text and the images to be in angle with the camera. But perhaps I have to put the foot down because it looses dynamics with no angles…

I’m pretty sure there might be a difference in camera lens distortion,
I could be wrong off course…

Also are you using the atmosphere feature on a sun lamp? :curious:
either that or theres some gamma/tone issues/differences.

I checked the old file and there is nothing different with the camera, just a different angle.
However, you were right about the light! On the old one I used ambient occlusion and on the new one I used environment lighting.

I also have a feeling that the choice of colours made a difference, it’s more difficult to reflect a blue environment in a yellow surface than a dark red in bright green.

I solved the angling of the boxes and the text with a slight tilt and random rotation on the text.

Thanks for the feedback!
