i´m exporting animation data from xsi to my game and i ran into some questions… when i construct my bezier polynomial, it´s very fast to evaluate based on parameter value, but as in any 3D application, what if i want to evaluate at a specified frame? i have an x value, and i need the y? i could of course numerically cheat in a number of ways, subdivide the spline and do an approximation, do something like newton-raphson to iterate towards an acceptable value.
is this how it´s done in an application like xsi?? i might be paranoid about the costs, but if there are thousands or more of animation curves that need to be numerically evaluated every frame while updating the view in realtime, is this reasonable?
