Eternal Silence is a space combat mod for HL2

What are your goals with this mod?
This mod is an opportunity for all the members on the team to get real game development experience in a professional atmosphere that rivals most real game studios. Our goal is to get real experience to get into the industry and complete a real game. We are not here to fool around, we are here to get better at what we do.

What seperates you from the rest of the HL2 Mods?
Eternal Silence is a complete experience in the sense that we put the players in a universe with no boundries and no shortcuts. The basis of the gameplay revolves around capital ships facing off in deep space. Players will be able to fight inside these capital ships, command them or man space craft and fight outside the capital ship.

How far along are you guys?
The gameplay concept is complete. We have outlined our first release. We are currently the only mod showing off custom real-time shaders and normal mapped characters. Coding is expected to commence shortly once the SDK is released. Most models are complete for the first release.

We are currently looking for the following:

Position: Artist/Modeller

  • Low poly modelling experience required
  • High poly modelling experience preferred
  • Normal Mapping (or Zbrush) experience preferred
  • Hard Surface modelling experience preferred
  • Able to UV map and Texture their own models preferred
  • Must be able to work with a team
  • Must be able to provide aswell as recieve crits without fuss
  • Must have pics of previous works
  • Must have time to donate to the mod
    Job consists of modelling and skinning ship and capital ship models. Guns will also need to be modelled. Props in maps. Mostly hard surfaced objects. Some player models if the candidate has the skills appropriate for that type of modelling.

Position: Lead Animator

  • Character Rigging skills required
  • Must be able to animate models
  • Must be able to display weight and movement properly
  • Low/High Poly modelling skills preferred
  • Skinning skills preferred
  • Hard Surface modelling experience preferred
  • Must be able to work with a team
  • Must be able to provide aswell as recieve crits without fuss
  • Must have movies of previous works
  • Must have time to donate to the mod
    Job consists of serving as a pillar for the team in terms of animation. Will be in charge of important play animations. Weapon reload animations. Possible cinematic work.
