error when opening Mudbox 2010

I guess the problem is located in your graphic card. Do you use vga on board? Maybe your graphics cards doesn’t have enough OpenGL specification. I have the same trouble with you, but mine is laptop and on xp sp2. My driver is SiS with OpenGL spec 1.5… Once I opened Mudbox 2010, it showed up problem report. And when I clicked the detail, it showed the list of driver who is in trouble with Mudbox. (sisgl7.dll). So i figured out that the OpenGL spec doesn’t fulfill the requirement for mudbox… Try upgrade your vga. I tried it on my computer desktop on NVIDIA GeForce 9400 GT 512 Mb, Xp Sp2. It runs well. It seems the problem is in you VGA.

Hi, I had the same problem with u!
I used it to my laptop xp sp2, and report problem window showed up. It crashed and suddenly closed my mudbox. Once i click the detail, I checked the driver. It was my vga onboard OpenGL driver SIS. Currently my OpenGL version is 1.5. So I concluded that you need OpenGL 2.0 to use it. Because when I tried on my computer desktop with NVIDIA GeForce 9400 GT 512 MB, it succeeded and opened. So why don’t you try upgrading your hardware. And see the difference!

Please check software requirements when purchasing new software.

Mudbox is not made for onboard GPU’s. They do not qualify as decent hardware for Mudbox, and this is stated blatantly on Autodesk’s website. If you want to do graphics design work, you need a graphics-capable computer.
