Error: Cant create GWorld...WTF???

#1

Hi all…I am in desperate need of a solution to this. Im running CS3 and have been workign on a project for 7 weeks and suddenly i get this error message:

Error: Cant create GWorld

I can open the project, but cant scrub at all without this coming out. I have tried everything, renaming the pref file, turnign address fragmentation off in the pref file, moving the opengl plugin somewhere else, tried it on the cs4 trial, tried it on another machine…

Can anyone help at all?

Thank you

OK, looks like it is a Quicktime related error msg… We removed all Qt’s and now it seems to be working. Be advised

Actually, scratch that. That didnt work. It seems to be a problem with Quicktime and/or the thumnails generated in AE. But seeing as only a handful of people have gotten this error and both Adobe and the mighty Mylenium have no answers…it looks unlikely it will resolved.

Very bizarre

hello
same problem here; can’t create gworld!

it’s a huge project (30mb-Setup) - it seams to crash when it has to parse .ai and .eps files. It freezes when i open the project-bin or just open a comp with .ai files in it. the icons are not visible anymore for .ai files.

on a different station no problem. fast as always.

the workstation with 2xXeon is on XP64. I think I change it to win7 anyway.

no idea after testing, googling and uninstalling for days now.

regards,
michael

We found out what the problem is. The project is too big. Ours was huge as well. Just precomp layers and simplify the project and it will all be ok. Dont panic!
