Hello murre,
I think it’s hard to crit. What I see is that the modeling an the lighting is good, but the picture looks like a cut-off, it looks like something is missing.
It’s a strange perspective, as the viewer( OK, me) expects a view of the whole lighthouse with some ground(rocks, water, waves, something like that) and not the only the top of it. The composition of this pic leads the eye into an empty space, for instance placin some sea gulls(yeah I know this is a very poor clichè) in the middle left would change a lot.
And fix the refraction of the windows, I think, this is way too much, looks like a coke-bottle.
Thanks for the quick reply scrimski
Sea gulls doesn’t sound too bad acctually, I’m not too sure i can model one though
And yes, now that you mention it, the refraction of the windows does look terrible. I’ll try to fix that.
i agree with scrimski, but i think it’s a good shot considering it’s a frame that have been cut out from the animation… but that’s only my opinion. and… is it really animated? or only a still?
maybe i would think about adding another light from the right side of the lighthouse. experiment with that.
