Background: Eloy lived a rather simple life as a child. His father, who owned a farm on the countryside of Havana, met his mother, who was still new to Havana city and came in search of a better and successful life. The two met when Eloy’s mother came to work on the farm as his father’s housemaid, and quickly the two were in love. Though both families was well against their marriage, the two ignored their families cries and happily got married.
Soon Eloy was born, and as he was growing up his parents noticed that he had big appetite that makes him eat a lot more than the kids in his age and started to gain weight, they tried to put him on diet but it didn’t work, so his father decided to enroll him in martial arts classes by making him train very hard in order to burn the huge calories he consumes or use it to build muscles.
When Eloy started training he liked it despite being overweight but he wanted to grow strong so he trained hard and was very talented as a fighter but his training didn’t help him lose weight but instead he started to gain more weight since the huge effort he puts in his training increased his cravings for food and started to eat more which made his body very strong with hard muscles that’s a buried under big tough layers of fat.
When he started to attend school, the other students started to bully him when they saw his big fat body but Eloy responded to them with his fist and hurt them so bad which made them fear him and couldn’t dare to bully him anymore.
When Eloy was ten his father became ill though, diagnosed with lung cancer. His mother was first devastated, but his father told them it was nothing to be worried about and told them to continue on like nothing has happened. Eloy feared for his father’s health, and helped out around the household as much as he could while letting his father rest. Though over the years, his father’s illness became worse, to the point where medical treatment couldn’t be helpful. When Eloy was twenty-four, his father passed away. He and his mother were deeply saddened by the loss, but tried to live their lives forward.
It soon came to end though when Eloy was twenty-five, that one of his father’s old friends came to visit their household one day. His father’s friend was a part of gang that his father was part of before he left. He came to warn them that the leader of the Falcons gang was in search of his father who owed him a large amount of money that he borrowed years before. The household did not have much money left since most of it was used for his father’s medical treatments, and so Eloy decided that he would work for the gang and pay back the debts.
When he met the gang leader Reizel Cobram, Reizel didn’t think highly of Eloy because of how Eloy’s body looked. Reizel asked Eloy what type of work can he do for the gang with that fat body of his. Eloy then showed him what he can do by smashing the wall with his fist then he jumped high in the air and caught some of the falling bricks, thus showing Reizel his brute strength and agility which made Reizel very impressed and then he let him join the gang.
His mother was against the idea of him being part of a criminal group, but fearing of the dangerous job he got now, he told his mother to sell the farm and the house, and use the money to go to live with some relatives they have in Spain. His mother was also against that idea, not wanting to leave her child, but after many arguments she finally agreed. With no home now, Eloy moved to New York, and joined the Falcons gang and he fights for it now to pay back the debts…and to keep his mother safe.
