In the first clip:
[ul]Work on the ground texture and environment, it looks too simple and bland right now.[/ul]
[ul]Make it clearer that it is his car he’s standing by (I assume this is the case), right now the shading, modeling and angle of the car makes it hard to tell what it even is. The way he’s walking also indicates that he is walking up to it, not that he just left the car.
When he gets a gun put to his head, there’s a cut to his face where no one is visible behind him. In the next cut the man with the gun is standing at a distance instead of right behind the first man.[/ul]
[ul]When he gets shot in the hand we see the back of the truck in the background. This is inconsistent with the establishing shot where both the truck and the crane where the woman is located are on the right side of the screen. When he gets shot in the head his position also changed in relation to the first man [/ul]
[ul]In the shot after he picks up the gun, the position of the crane and the sun appears to be flipped. You can also see the crane casting shadows on him and the car, which again is inconsistent with what we saw in the establishing shot.[/ul]
[ul]The position of the second gunman is unclear, due to the angle which the bullets are coming from changing from shot to shot. After he runs out of bullets the woman appears down on the ground, despite being up on the crane a few seconds earlier.[/ul]
[ul]In general, work on making the characters blend into the CG better and get rid of the continuity errors. It’s a fairly complex sequence, so it’s definitely not easy to put together[/ul]
Second clip:
[ul]Again, there’s a few continuity errors. One moment the two cars are right next to each other, a few cuts later the woman is driving the complete opposite direction. Some shots show the cars in shadow, despite them being on an open plain. The explosion of the car blowing up is appear to be to the left of the woman’s car when we see it from the inside. This shot is also reversed compared to the previous and following shot. I do like the interior shots from the car though.[/ul]
[ul]The dust from the car and the big vehicle when they come around the corner disappears in a very odd way.[/ul]
I know that some of these changes would mean a lot of work, but it’s something to think about for future projects. Make sure to put work into storyboards and planning so that the shots flow together. Right now they feel disjointed and are difficult to follow.
I hope I don’t sound too harsh. You definitely seem to be willing to put effort into this so just keep at it. Good luck in the future!
