EI Crash when opening shader pallette

Anyone have any idea about this, but no sweat.
Normally when using EI shaders I access them via the browser- no problems except its time consuming. I tried to open the shader pallette that runs along the bottom of the screen and the app crashes. The material pallette which runs top to bottom right side of the screen is no problem.
I,m using 6.5 on XP pro with a Nvidia 7900GT card. 2 Gig Ram

I dont access shaders a lot. But I do remember having EI crash every time I brought that up as well. 6.5 on a mac I believe…

Hey Martin, I think that was fixed in 701 (or maybe 702)… I’ll check in a bit…

I’ve same thing happen to me before. If you install any 3 party shader recently, try remove it.

yes…there is a known problem with some 3rd party shaders, some of them can crash EI when opening the pallette, one ones i know about are A fraktal and maybe some of the other “A” shaders, it can be a real pain.

Try having a default project that you open first with a simple ubershape plane, have the plane selected when opening the shader pallette for the first time, i think this is what worked for me… the problem seemed to go away.

Yup it is fixed in v7

That must be the problem as I have quite a few third party shaders.

IIRC, One of the Arete Shaders (ocean optics, air optics, psyclone) did this. It has been fixed in the current builds. If you have these, remove them and check it again.
