Effect similar to trapcode shine

I need to create some sort of light rays under the water so I created a solid that was like a wave and luma matted it so that there were gaps in it for light to pass through, then I realised I didn’t have the shine plugin by trapcode, so I was wondering how I would recreate this effect without using an plug ins…

Or I may just buy the trapcode plugins.

Try CC Light Rays or CC Light burst in Effect>Generate

Thanks haha why did I not think to use them… I’ll give them a go, I just bought trapcode… but oh well…
