editing the animation to slower movement on Maya

#1

I’m a student & I have a question on Maya 2011
I already made a short animation & after render it I found out the animation was tooo fast
now I want to edit & make longer or slower

what is the safer way to make it longer … I tried out editing the graph editor but I some of the characters fly away from their original places

could you please advise me !
thanx

you can either use the dope sheet or scale the keys in the timeline

Hey! Just select everything with keys on it (even blendshapes if you’re using some), go to the graph editor and grab all of your keys, then use the scale tool and middle mouse button to scale the keys to whatever new timeline you have.

Just as a side note, to be sure this doesn’t happen again be sure to constantly playblast at whatever framerate your final animation will, be as you work. This will help you to get correct timing on your actions, realtime playback can be very deceiving haha.
