Edison needs help!

Hi,

Edison needs help!

Summary

“It has become appallingly obvious that our technology has exceeded our humanity” – Albert Einstein

Edison is a highly stylised and startling animated feature film that tells the story of an epic race between two giants -Thomas Edison and George Westinghouse - to electrify the east coast of North America and secure their place in history.

During this dark and sometimes violent battle, men struggled to retain their humanity as they changed the very fabric of America with the formation of General Electric.

These great men who set out to bring light to the world plunged themselves into the darkest battle, cheating, lying and destroying lives for their own selfish gains – Edison invented the electric chair just to ruin his rivals, Westinghouse hired henchmen to sabotage Edison’s work.
In this vicious fight for domination and power, there would only be one winner, but at what cost? As laboratories burned and the casualties mounted – America stumbled out of the dark into an age of wonder and illumination.

Tonally, ‘Edison’s Fire’ is a mixture of hard drama and character humour. You could say it lives somewhere between The Aviator, Citizen Kane and There Will be Blood.

Where we are at

ANNECY ANIMATION FESTIVAL!! We’ve been one of the lucky few to be accepted to pitch our film at Annecy’s excellent creative focus and we need help.

As a part of the pitch we would love to include a little animation which we have scripted. So far we’ve produced a model of Edison (no clothes) with a low level body and face rig. We need help to finish off the model (with clothes) to a high standard and then animate him according to the script.

This has been done in Blender 2.5.

Is anyone willing to help us finish this presentation off? Aprrox 1 min of animation to be produced by the end of May (in time for the festival). All I can offer is a copy of the final presentation on DVD, credit at the festival and the final film. If we manage to securefunding your efforts will be rewarded further.

More details on request.

If you’re interested please send examples of your work to russ@gagdirectors.com.

Best,

Russell
