The following pics show a problem I find quite frustrating with edge bevels under certain circumstances. It only takes a minute or two to fix the problem but if you bevel this type of edge a lot the time sure adds up. Hope the guys at lux can fix this for the next release.

Can you not remove that edge prior to doing the bevel? What happens if you select that edge and hit backspace?

Actually, it’s because it’s “keyhole” geometry, you can’t delete the last edge, best thing to do is to tack the corners of the keyhole polygon. Select the corners of the box and select the closest vert on the cylinder and select ctrl - L
I’ve gotten this a few times as well, even in Lightwave using Rounder. In Modo its actually pretty easy to fix. I just rotated the points in that section back into place. You can even use the work plane to align too if the poly base is off axis. Just takes a second to fix, but it would really be nice if it didn’t dop that. In fact sometimes it doesn’t. Weird.
