Dynamically Changing Mesh - with Rigging control?

#1

Hey, I’m new to Animation and Modelling, But have sufficient knowledge to use the programs and such.

However i have recently come across a problem that I am unfamiliar with.

Basically I am rigging a character, and the Mouth needs to be rigged in a certain way that the Mesh is actually changed, Rather than moved about.

Basically the controls need to be within a Square, that when moved around change the mesh of the character, to fit basic speech.

The character itself is mainly square so creating the expressions will not be too hard.

But basically my question is:

How do I create Rigging controls that Dynamically changes the mesh?

You can make an animate a blendshape that is being driven by the controller. You would do this by creating a set driven key or direct connection. You could even put in betweens in. and have the location of the box in space make extreme expressions.

Set driven key on the visibility on your different meshes. Assuming when you say “changes” the mesh, you mean swaps out the mesh.
