Dx11 Tessellation in the future?

Can an app like MB benefit from hardware tessllesation in its viewport? If so, has Autodesk made any rumblings at all regarding them doing R&D on it for the furture?

I know 3dcoat uses GPUs to power their Voxel sculpting which allows a lot of detail with decent viewport speed.

mud is using the gpu extensive and using a LOD system in the viewport…
and i thing these tesselation feature is only working with tri meshes…
