Here’s the pencil sketch for my entry. I pulled some reference from various sources and came up with this. I want to go for a classical portrait look, but I want to see what kind of fun can be had with the armor.

I did DW3 last year and really enjoyed it, so I hope I can make it through DW4 this year. Thought I’d give this mini-challenge a try. Let’s see if I can finish this in time. ^^;

She is considered the loveliest woman in China of her time, and her beauty is matched only by her strategic and tactical genius. Haven’t come up with a name yet.

This sounds like too much fun. I would’ve done it last year but I didn’t see that you could do a 2d concept until about a week before the end of the contest and I didn’t want to rush and make something of low quality. THIS YEAR!!!

I am new to dominance war and really looking forward to everyones portraits. Seen some really nice peices so far, looking good everyone. I decieded to a mayan/aztec theme, and wanted to try to a hybrid between human and jaguar, since jaguar is a significant animal during those times.

Okay here’s a colour update. I know I haven’t used the CGsociety colours yet, but I hope to use them on his breathing apparatus. I feel I’ve been too careful so far, so I’m going to mess it up and see where it takes me.

Really enjoying the quality of work so far -
I love the designs from Rawwad, Gatlingg and Okmer to name a few.
Also great start cylstudio81, that’s a general no one would mess with!

My wips so far - General Gazan was a real General in the Nepoleonic Wars, I’m thinking about trying to develop a more updated version with some modern elements, so far I’m still approaching the traditional portrait. I’m contemplating a robot/human style, but this is my first attempts at characters so I’m a little uncertain how it’ll go :wink:
If anyone’s got a bit of time for crits that would be fantastic!
