DWIV - Mini Challenge #1 - War General Portraits 2D

#81

Loving the work so far in here, Especially Gatlingg. Gonna have a bash at this myself today, see how it goes.

#82

Looks good Crix, though one crit i would make is that his shoulders seem a little too narrow, given his head size. I really like how you did the scars over his eye though xD

#83

Man, this is moving fast!

Ferx: Nice to see you here mate. Great start!
Nikolay: Wow, neat work!
Gatlingg: can´t wait to see your entry fully colored!

Here´s my progress so far… “General Double Standards”

#84

so, some more progress on my piece.

jOuey: Really like your knight
Nikolay: Nice concept, reminds me of the latest planet of the apes movie.

and great start so far everybody!

Hello everyone,

Here is my General. I decided to rely once again on a human race.
He is a general of an elite squad of formal imperial guards. That’s it for now. Good luck to everyone.

#86

My first attempt, might become something else as I go along…

#87

Okmer: Really nice so far!

Still searching…

#88

OK, still no real idea how this works but decided to give it a go. Here are my first 3 WIPs. Don’t know who this guy is or indeed if he’s a good general, but one thing for sure, you’d think twice before disobeying his orders

sketch/wip

I present to You general Lestat. Inspiration tune for it was my dog, doberman and recently read comic book “Blaksad”. Uniform will be based on those worn by polish soldiers during WW II
I need to work to make it more pathetic…

#93

Hello, I finally decided to change a lot of stuff on my character. I kept some elements of the first one and tried to devolop an other kind of war lord… more aged, more experienced… I hope this works better
I’ll keep the roman/greek style anyway, I like this “glorious” effect related to this theme. I’ll probably associate this to some advanced technology, maybe some forgotten Atlantian stuff.

Crits are always welcome.

May the force be with all of you

#94

thx for the advises mate

@ NavigatorJones : thx for your suport

@Okmer: How are you doin’ mate? It’s cool to see you there  Your art is so cool dude ! Que la force soit avec toi !

New WIP
Found a name: General Eyce.
A simple word play for ice and eye, because of his dead eye and scary prosthesis.
He lives in a world which is like 18th century mix with steam punk and fantasy:
( Cavalry, canon but also some kind of steam machine, dwarf, elves… and a bit of very high tech).

I start creating a little story about him.
This picture is his last portrait before his death. A couple of hours later he will die in a quite stupid way by falling off his horse. A shell fell not very far from him scaring his horse. A bit of a lame death for a general victorious on many battlefields.

#96

Great progress.
BaronImpossible: Uh, you are right he is stronger…

WIP.2. walking around:

#97

Ok this is some values and light study on my character…
This is my first DominanceWar challenge and I am wondering about the cgs colors… are we supposed to use only these???
Thanx for any helpful answer

Hi all! My first sketch of the general. Not sure about his name yet. Something like “Feras Consumere Nati IV”
