I think someone suggested that he should have a more “malicious” expression. It occurred to me at the beginning of this thing (after doodling some more serious characters) that most ALL of the characters were going to have some kind of serious or scary expression. But I had this character in my sketchbook who gets sheer joy out of what he does. I think that’s fairly scary. Like… Joker scary. Just some method to my madness! :stuck_out_tongue:

cylstudio81- That looks AWESOME! I love the grunge feel. …like I’m being blown back because the dark energy around him is manipulating the environment or something! sweeeeet.

Im almost done, another day of quick fixes and I will be ready to enter my final draft.

Quick Backstory on General Artifice: version 1.09
in the distant future CGS has taken over most of the galaxy only a few struggling civilizations remain. The CGS has plugged its greatest generals mind into a advanced AI computer… you get the idea (I hope)

In other words: man (or woman in this case) and machine are working together to achieve an outcome, but also fighting each other to retain some of their origional identity.

Hi team, here is an WIP on my character. I was told to add light and constrast and i have done so on the right side of his face. The red spots on his face is his skin color. When he gets angry they glow. The red band on his forehead is the blood of his soldiers who died for him.

Stories been told from far and wide…You can hear the deep bass of the drums pounding from miles aways. In the far ground an army of legions led by the most famous general of all time, General Raikbor. He defiantly defeats all opponents who defies him. Slaying his victims as he conquers each territories leaving nothing left behind but genocide…

General Halas is a very busy man. He was not expecting to have to sit for hours and have his portrait painted…

Yeah…He wasn’t particularly impressed XD He doesn’t understand why people like him, really, he finds most attention directed towards him, that isn’t war related, quite strange.

what I have so far. I’ve yet to work in the colors and logo, but once the clothing is more defined, I’ll put that in :slight_smile:

Here it is General Leonard Law with a bit more details. I don’t think poor Leonard will look much better in the end, but sure I’ve learned a lot just by trying to focus on the subject and imposing myself to fix choices to go on with the work. This mini challenge is amazing, good luck everyone! :applause:

Hi guys and gals, I begin now my WIP.
Any practice is good, and this good theme.

Today I have a lot of free time and started my portrait. Now I show you the first stages of work. I have defined the form of the face, the form of body and hair and primary colours. Sketch is done and tomorrow I will continue and start to add details.
