DWIV - 3D - Silkcats - DemonAbomination

Wow man! This is awesome, really… Im glad you are gonna put something on his back again, becouse his composition felt kind of emty without it. I dont think you’ve pulled of the front view really, i imagine something much more interesting and dynamic from the side. It just doesnt look like the same creature. And I’m a freak for movement through figures. Like between the front leg and the second form the left(sideview) the first leg is positioned very nicely in relation to the one beside it, then its almost three of the same in a row, maybe spice up some angles and levels on at least one or two of the rest pairs. Just a tiny detail, works quite fine as it is also. Man i kinda get scared looking at it to long :p. Good job! Keep it up!

You are right, maybe I will take out the second or the third pair of legs and that way I will have more space for the character that is going to be on top, what do think?

#23

Oh! fantastic ugly face! that realy cool! I like it so much.

waiting to see the rider , if you will have it.

#24

nice feel on this one… wtf indeed as the guy says. Only critique is that the legs feel too short like they are missing a segment. Its working tho.

#25

That’s an ugly bastard! In a good way  Great design work.

#26

Thanks for the comments guys !!

I was a little worried about the polygon count of my creature so yesterday I started the modeling to see if I will have enough polygons for the skeletal fish, the parasite and the creature on the top.
I’m now working on the creature on the top so next update will be the sketches I’m making

blake1999: I added another segment to the legs to try and I I think It looks better now so thanks for the idea

#27

when i looked at your drawings, the first thing that came into my mind is works of H.R.Giger.
I dunno why, perhaps because of your drawing style.
Anyway, cool concepts.
Keep up the good work,
And wish U Good luck in your creative process! :arteest:

#28

Ok so here is my first attempt for the creature riding the skeletal fish, I like it but I think is not scary enough so I’m gonna try something bigger

#29

Hi everyone! Here is some Modeling of the Skeletal Fish that I didn’t upload the other day…

#30

…And here is the Creature who’s gonna be on top, the little frog was really nice but this one is really ugly and I think he fits better with the Skeletal Fish… but this is not the final one cos’ I think his face is not scary ennough so I’m working on a really demonic and scary one now…he he he!!

I hope you like it!

Hey Felipe,

Really cool sketches and concepts  I really like the “Boxing fighter Abomination” hahahaha really great!!. Your fish abomination looks really cool!! Good luck and waiting for more updates on your concept! Cheers!!

P.S I open the 3 page of the thread!! deserve another beer yeaa  Cheers!!

aeonseraph: I’m glad you like the concepts  I was fan of H.R. Giger work when I was a teenager a loooong time ago but at the end it was to obscure for me so then I moved to more friendly and colorfull artists. It’s funny because it’s been at least 10 years since the last time I did a monster or something like that so it’s been really fun to go back to do this kind of stuff again!

Ferx: Thanks for your comment and for opening my third page !! Cheers for that!

lol… i like those funny looking Demons. The boxer guy and last update of the one holding flag is something that i like, it is like these demons are kinda cute n funny and we may be under the impression that they may not attack and feel sympathy towards them… and then all of a sudden make a surprise attack… which brings us to the fact that ‘Appearances can be deceiving’ :wise: wow!

i really liked the last sketch of the guy with flag riding on top of the fish, ya…it fits much better, generally we see scary looking features for demons everywhere but something like these are very rare, so don’t be focused on making it look scarier… i think you are heading in right direction, keep up to it… All the best! waiting for more updates…

#34

So here is my demon after plastic surgery I think he’s uglier than before, what do think?

#35

namnocilis: Thanks for your comment  Is difficult to make a scary character cos’ it depends on each person’s fears, in my case I put all the things that I found disgusting to make the character cos I when I imagine a Demon I think of something ugly and disproportioned rather than the “body builder” kind Demon.
I inspired myself in old japaneese demons and some ugly bat pictures to make the last face, what do think?

cheers!

Hi everyone!!

I moved to a new apartment last week so It’s been a while since my last post. Now that I have my PC again I started modeling de base for the creature on top on 3DS Max so Hopefully I will start ZBrushing tomorrow finally!!

cheers!!

#37

This demon is much better, it reminds me of those old woodcuts from the middle ages.

Awesome concept so far, I agree these misshapen creatures are much scarier.

#38

great concept. i really like the style of your character. I’m looking forward to updates  keep it up.

Cheers !

Primativ: Thanks man! In fact some of my sources of inspiration for this creature were medieval paintings, I think those where the best demons of all times!
(Cool avatar btw!)

Samoht: Thanks man, I’m glad you like my concept  Please keep checking out my work
Cheers!
