Wow i’ve said it once, and dam man you deserve it again, WOW. Very nice. Loving the muscle detail especially on his back

#42

Xidon - thanks a lot dude, I added some extra stuff to the design, a belt strap that goes around his back and connects to the shoulder pad. Just to help tie up the design a bit more. Thanks again for the Xidon… waiting to see updates on your entry!
Here is some of those extra details… and a quick color test…

#43

The detail on the last update is coming along nicely! Anatomy looks a little blocky right now but I am sure you are going to smooth and clean things up. Keep going

#44

GregStrangis - thanks dude, yeah I cleaned him a bit, but I am pretty much done with the sculpt, I have to start moving on to the low poly and texturing. I want to put some work into those, as well as the presentation (pedestal and beauty render)… the time is running out, I want to be able to finish him properly… hopefully it will work out in the end…good luck with yours as well

#45

NICE! i like it a lot! cool anatomy :), the leg feels quite a bit too short but tht’s pretty much it very nice WIP.
reminds me of a Cylon Demon ehe

#46

StefanoDubay - Hey Stefano, thanks a lot man, i tried to make the anatomy work, its always important to nail that down. Know i am working out the low poly so its evenly built and not looking polygonal, looking for nice round surfaces and the texture and shader work. I also have to pose him but that will come later on. I like your entry too, I looks very detailed and the anatomy work is great too…looking forward to see more of that guy !.. Also I noticed you work for PSYOP? … if so congratulations on the awesome work on that FED EX commercial…really awesome work there…

#47

eheheh thanks bu I didnt worked on tht one
cheers
BTW i just posted a turntable on my thread, I’ll throw more soon, it makes much more sense in 3D

StefanoDubay - sorry about that man… I checked out your turntable, the progress on your character is coming along really nice! crazy details and nice sculpting…good luck man

Finished the low poly ( a bit under 10k), also unwrapped it but i have to arrange them on the 2048 sheet. Did a quick normal test on the belt buckle on the front… still not the final normal just a test to see how the detail holds up.
Also did some polypainting to test out color schemes for this guy… I have an idea of where to go with him color wise but still figuring stuff out as I go…time is running out!
Good luck to everyone on their entries…

#49

Man you are so far ahead of me  Ha ha i will be struggling to be getting this all finished but will definitely try. I like all of these colour schemes. So hard to pick a winner. Im thinking either the left or middle one as their colours are more CGS colour scheme. And i like how on the end two you have the shoulder spike thing a darker colour, this works real well.

#50

Xidon - Hey man thanks a lot… good job on your entry too… i saw the progres and it is coming along, still have a few weeks to finish him up man!. As far as color goes i was thinking the same thing either left or middle one, i still have to work on the color of the other elements to make sure they work well together as one… thanks for the input man.

#51

Your torso colour tests are looking excellent! cant wait to see the full body in that supreme quality

Are those colour tone images colour corrected in photoshop? or are they straight renders?

#52

Darkra - hey man thanks a lot… as far as those color renders go… they where screen captures from zbrush with some polypainting on them… I did do some small paint over in photoshop…it helps me preview his final colors scheme…

burned the normals… and tested out some renders in maya with the low poly mesh… now i will start texturing as well as cleaning up the normals… (this is a closeup… the final renders will be full body so i think he can hold up with the texture res )

#53

Looking wicked dude! As far as your color tests went I am a fan of 1 and 3, Low poly looks great as well, keep it up!

#54

Sweet normal test with on you low poly. The only area that really stands out to me that needs fixing (which you’ve probably already noticed) is the burnt/decaying part around the mouth on his stomach. That area seems like it is too detailed for the texture res. Maybe try having less of this on the normal map but have these details on a bump map. Anyway it’s just a thought. but as always, very nice progress.

#55

nice normal map render ! I hope mine will give something good too! :banghead: For the colors scheme I will vote for the option A . I think its the best balanced and have good tone too.

Good luck!

#56

Hmmmmm very good!.. I really like your color tests and hi rez model snapshots the renders are top notch I hope I can match this as well mine is a demon prince to . your quality is very high good job. Your right time is running out. time for the final dash. I like your weapons and body armer nice stuff … the mouth arm is pretty creepy not sure if you will gain or loose points on that one. lets hope you gain.

#57

greg - hey man thanks… i think i will go with color scheme A… good luck with your character too

Xidon-thanks a lot man. For sure I see what you mean about the mouth in stomach. I will clean that up in the diffuse and normal pass.

inmaya-thanks a lot, I think after all the comments option A for color scheme is probably the one i am going with. As far as the normals go it might help if you add a cavity map and Ao map to reinforce stuff.

QuantumPixel - thanks a lot, I hope the mouth arm works out in my favour…I was going for creepy!

I will try and post an update soon, working on the textures now, I think they need a lot of work so I might wait until they are looking a little bit better.
good luck to everyone!

#58

texture and render update.
Got some of the textures worked out… still working on them… spec is just a very rough pass. Got the sss shader up and running in maya as well (still tweaking it)… and also got a rock pedestal worked out ( in this pic you cant see to much of it but i will show it more later on). Still pretty much tweaking and fine tunning everything to get it to look proper. A few days left!!!

#59

Nice one, your model and texture came out very well. How will you be posing him?.. or is this the pose.

Also have you got the cgs logo in there somewhere? best not forget that

#60

Untamed - hey man… thanks for the nice comments… those textures there are not the final ones… same for the pose.
the logo if you look its in the skirt, its also in the back as well. But in the new texture its a bit more obvious.
I have been working on stuff but have not been able to post something. textures are done, Just taking time to set up the final images, fx’s, pedestal, and renders, as well as a decent pose (nothing too extreme)
I will upload some stuff soon.
