But why you have a “contest-size”? In the rules its written up to 1200px wide and 1000px hight. You dont have to paint in this exact size… It could also be 1000 high and just 600 wide for example…

Thanks bro. :beer: About the size - the full size (A1 - 300dpi) illustration will be a poster which will decorate my wall. The contest size (1200w x 1000h pixels - 350k) is what i will post as my entry for DW4. I understand that i can make a smaller sized image but then it would be hard to see the details i will put in this piece.

Here is the latest update from me. Sorry for delay, i just wanted to work on it a bit more before posting, i still do but ok, here goes. :smiley: There is still tons of work ahead. :arteest: It’s the first shading stage of this illustration, there are also some minor composition adjustments. No the illustration won’t be B&W, i’m just trying out a different aproach (first shading, then the actual colourscheme) that’s all. :slight_smile: I was really stressed yesterday, because i felt like i won’t make it in time AGAIN, but fortunately i found out that the deadline has been moved to may 18. These are great news, especially for people like me who besides the contest are also working. I lost two weeks because of that, so now i really have to speed things up.
I hope you’ll like the current version.
In next update i will finally put some colours.

C&C are most wellcome so don’t be shy and say what you think. :wink:

Hello ppl, ^__~V

I’m a maniac, i’ve been working like crazy these past days (almost without any sleep at all XD) and here is what i have at the moment. The BG colours are not final, they will be adjusted, corrected etc. in the final stage.
Background now is more or less how i imagined it, offcourse i will improve it in the process, but my main objective starting tomorrow is the character who will have many improvements. :arteest:
I hope U’ll like the current version.

again that’s great, the background looks real! really wish the rules didnt restrict the resolution to a horizontal canvas, so you could submit the entire piece. anyways keep it up man, looking forward to seeing the final piece

I just wanted to let you know that i’m still working on the final illustration… i planned to post an update today with the current progress, but changed my mind since tomorrow i will be able to post a fully completed piece along with updated/finished Concept Sheet + Modeling Sheet + Story Image. I think that you’ll be quite surprised about the final look of the illustration, especially about the final look of the Omnisferatu ;]
I’m glad that this year i’ll be able to finish up my entry. :arteest:
