Angel of Mercy

Race: Angel
Class: Clericon
Artifact Weapon: Holy Gauntlets

I want to create a graceful angel in an ornate plate armor. I don’t want it to be just some chick with bird wings and metal bikini, but an unearthly looking being with mysterious and awe-inspiring aura. A healer of troops, she has a pair of arcane gauntlets that have the power to both heal the innocent and banish the wicked.

As for color scheme, I was thinking about her being a white (white as in pure snow, not caucasian) feminine creature with a somewhat form-fitting silver armor, eyes (and the gauntlets) glowing blue, holy light. She also has a some sort of cloth surcoat (like Knights Templar had, maybe) dyed in Team Colors.

I have some experience with Photoshop, Zbrush and Max and I have done small freelance projects for various small clients, but nothing on the scale and the level of quality this competition requires. So, I’m both very excited and scared s**tless. A learning experience for me.

Yeah, the proportions on my character aren’t exactly anatomically correct anyway. :slight_smile:

But I’m not worried about the exact body type or being faithful to anatomy. Not yet. I’m still trying to figure out the character in broad strokes.

And one of the things I’ve noticed after doing that quick sketch is that her armor looks pretty boring and generic. Not only there some brilliantly rendered sketches out there in this competition, but also masterfully designed. Mine looks pretty much some boring, stock fantasy armor.

Back to the drawing board. Literally.

And yeah, that image you linked to is really beautiful.

It ended up being a bit darker than I originally intended the mood to be. Still not convinced about the armor.
