I know I have no chance at winning but I’d love to participate. Never modeled a character outside of joan of arc. And never even textured one. So this is gonna be a forced learning experience. 
Now i’m not sure i completely understand everything. With a magical artifact what exactly does that intail? Glowing rock? i’m lost there. help?
I think I’ll start doodling in school tommorow to see what i come up with.
i’m not very good at just creating stuff out of my head. so i was wondering what are some techniques you guys use to just make stuff up?
Personally I just come up with a back-story for the character, to develop characteristics and also to go into details on how he/she came to be. This helps me to visualize the character and setting, hope it can help you. Cheers
