     ---Original First Post---

Hey guys, Here's my official thread for Dominance War III.
This will be my first DW and I'm looking forward to sharing my progress.
When I read the backstory and guidelines last night I was wondering how I could use the "Vegitation Artifact." So this morning I began sketching out my idea of what an upright biped giraffe would look like.
Here's what I have so far. I spent about 3 hours drawing and coloring "Acacio"
(name meaning is "thorny tree"). I have some ideas for a storyline but i'll save that for later....
This first skecth is just me working out the anatomy & proportions.

I plan on adding some type of armor/cloth/accessories.

Hope you like it so far.
                       Check back later for updates.

Nice concept!! Very original, I am going to keep a close eye on this thread. As for the armour and accessories it would be cool to give them an African flair.

Keep up the good work!

Nice, can’t wait to see the armor on him. Btw I would suggest that the legs be bent a bit more and back a bit to give off balance. Cheers

#4

Jaidek: Thanks! I’m thinking about using all engraved wooden armor with some metal fastenings. Maybe some large leaves, cloth, or war paint.

Loukor: Thanks for the comment- I agree with you about the balance of the character. I’ll be sure to consider that when I’m drawing out my front/side view.

I'm currently working on the front/side/back references. For me this is the most difficult part of the process...getting every detail to line up in three seperate drawings.

Also, I would love it if there was a photoshop plug that allowed mirrored symmetrical drawing (like zbrush has for modeling.) That would make my life 50% easier! =)

Any other comments and critiques are welcome.

thats a nice concept!
animal rules!

-Quick update
I’ve been working on my orthographic sketches. Just a silhouette so far…
The next step will be to create a detailed drawing using this as a guide.

#7

That will definetly be one of a kind, dont see much giraffe-men. I’d like to see how it comes along.

#8

What an AMAZING idea, this is awesome!! The silhoutte looks so good, I can really see this working well. How are you going to turn this guy into a one man army? Can’t wait to see more.

Brilliant :thumbsup::bounce:

#9

Awsome an anthro Giraffe watches keep up the good work.

#10

Such a good idea, you’re in my top 3.

#11

Thank you for you comments! I’m glad you guys like it so far. Really keeps me motivated.
Last night I did some more orthographic sketch work:

My next step will be designing the clothing, armor, and weapon. I don’t think I’ll keep the magic vegetation staff seen in my original concept. I want something more solid and/or intimidating.

#12

nice and original concept!.,cant wait to see what kind of armor you comeup with this guy!

#13

this is cool! It made me smile also

#14

I Just finished the back orthographic view.

#16

Very funny concept, good work !

#17

thats giraffe-tastic!

Yeah, me too, I can’t wait to see ideas for weapons and costume, etc… maybe jewelry of some sort, I can imagine all sorts of tribal stuff, maybe a lip piercing

#18

Very nice update! I am really digging the proportions on this guy. He has just the right ammount of muscle mass to him, not too built and not to thin. What are you planning to do for the fingers? Thumb and two fingers maybe? Just curious. Anyways, keep up the great work! :applause:

#19

Super!:applause: i was laugh longly:)))))))

#20

Hey guys, time for another update.
I spent some time last night coming up with some gear for this guy to wear.
Here it is:

The idea was to come up with a color set that was tribal and also incorporated our team colors. After many changes and variations this is how it came out.
Hope you like it!

As always, your comments and critiques are much appreciated.
