DWIII - 3D - MartinNielsen - Goliatus The Invoker

velesius: Thanks  I’m in the ā€œthinking boxā€ about the detals. Remember that the final material will be a glowing one, maybe with some transparency as well. So I don’t think you would be able to see all those details in the final picture. Longer teeth would certainly be visible, so I’ll consider those

Right now I’ll continue with the artifact and main character. Then I can see how much time there’s left for tweaking.

good work! althougt as i said, when you have some free time try to learn zbrush, in my opinion is usefull than mudbox, very complicated to start using, but much more easy modeling. (I learned to use it for this dominance war :stuck_out_tongue: )

#63

Started on the artifact

#64

daelon: Thanks  And I will learn ZBrush eventually

Everything is looking real cool. Great progress. One of the best enteries. I like your concept because of its originality and uniqueness as I mentioned before:).

Artifact is looking great. Are you planning to add glow map to your atifact or You will be using opacity alpha plane technique.

keep up the good work.

#66

Great progress on the creature, man. Nothing to add, as it’s looking pretty close to your concept. I’m looking forward for the main char, that will be pretty good with all those skin details.

#67

Almost there…

#68

madshooter: Thank you very much for that  I’m not sure yet, which technique I’ll use. But using alpha maps is a good suggestion  I actually work with UnrealEngine3 at a game company, so I know at lot of neat material tricks. It’s a pity, I’m not allowed to use my own materials here.

jramauri: Thank you  I think I nailed the artifact pretty much, so Ill start the main character now. If I have the time, I’ll add some scratch details as well.

Keep pushing it! I hope you make the deadline. It wouldn’t surprise me if they pushed it back again…so many people’s entries are ALMOST complete…but I dunno they might not look at it like that heh.

Good Luck.

#74

This is looking really good.

andy6308AAA: Thanks.

Ferx: Thank you!

andy6308AAA: Thanks again? Hmmmm… is this a bot?

Ivan0129: Thanks

eMysfit: Thanks my friend. I can tell you now, that I won’t make it in time. It’s just too hard to work again in the evening after a fulltime 3d job at a game company. Maybe I should had made a 2d entry instead, which is more relaxing for me. I love 3d, but it’s also hard work.

jttruong85: Thank you

#76

Great artifact! Very original.

Keep it up!

#77

Yeah, I don’t actually have a job doing art, but I’m sure it could get you burnt out fast doing it as a job and coming home with more stuff to finish. I already come home from my crappy job and don’t feel like working on stuff sometimes. So I kinda get where you’re coming from only it’s probably even worse for you than me since you’re doing it all day.

I wonder if it’d be ok to convert this into a 2D entry? Your 2d is already really nice, and since you wouldn’t actually be submitting it in the 3d catagory, submitting the character in 2d would probably be allowed. Just a thought…

#78

Blaschke: Thanks :), but this is the end for me now

eMysfit: I don’t think that is permitted. But thanks for the support  I plan to finish my character in some way, when I have the strength and motivation.
