I really dig your armour design it’s very sleek and elegant at the same time and overall it’s disgustingly good!

vshen: Thank you!
Ok, here are some new screenshots of the detail I added to the arms. Some areas are not finished yet. Oh, and I know that the fine details will not get picked up in the normal map. I’m mainly doing it for practice. Just mentioning it now because I know someone will bring it up.

Thats really crazy man!!
You may want to ease some details on the face as people seeing this will be like…what in the fudge is it??
Yet crazy design!!
Very nice sculpting:thumbsup:. His face looks freakin awesome, nice details. All the best:)
damn waylon! thats some crazy ass detailing goin on there?? how many poly r u playin with in ur viewport
nice details on the head … i like the armour and the cloth padding a lot. u surely gonna kick some asses… keep it up.
DDS: Thanks! Your entry is also one of my favorites.
Brashen: This is a edit, as for some reason I didn’t see your post before. When I start texturing it should be easier to see what is what on the head. The head is not finished yet as some parts were really rushed and I need to polish it some. That will most likely come after most of the model is complete. Thanks for replying!
Madshooter: Thank you!
Samar: Thanks! I have around 20 or so subtools and the total poly count for everything at the moment is around 79 million. I’m guessing when I’m finished everything will be around 100-120 million. I can actually cut some of the suvdivisions down on some of the subtools later on if I want. I just wanted to get nice crisp details with lots of geometry so if/when I cut them down eventually they will still look good. It is safe to say I will be rendering the ambient occlusion maps and normal maps in sections. lol
I’m still deciding which part to move on to. It will either be the back of the torso for detail or to finish up the legs. Right now I’m leaning toward the legs as there are some proportion issues that need to be fixed. After that I will probably work on the inner cloth under his torso armor. I have not decided how long it should be in the back yet so I’m kind of holding off on that while I think about it.

looking sweet man, keep up love those details, 100million polys crazy! I need a better computer.
Some amazing detailing on the armor. The creases, folds, and detailing on the arm really create a feeling of padded armor, nice. I’ll be keeping an eye on this one.
That armour design is so unique and different this is something I really struggle with !
Thanks for the comments guys! I am currently working on the legs and will post some new screenshots in 1-2 days. I also worked more on the arms but the changes I made are not worth posting a new screenshot (I added some extra wrinkles around the elbow area).

You’re sculpt is exellent. I also think your silhouette is just fine in your joice to keep the helmet the centerpiece of your design. Too often, we artists add clutter for the purpose of keeping the silhouette busy. The only thing I’m worried about is all that fine detail you’ve been spending your time sculpting, like the stitching and the maggots, will get lost in the 2048 textures. Also consider you may need to make some of the finer details bolder because once all the textures are applied some of it may get lost.
RaresHalmagean: Yea, you are right in that the finer details will not show up well in the 2048 normal map. I am mainly doing it for practice modeling. Once I have the entire model to a certain level of detail I will most likely go through and exagerate certain parts a little more to make them more obvious. Thanks for posting!

Small detail are always cool to watch and…make .
Really nice work
. I like this disharmony between elegant look of his suit and creepiness of his anatomy. Keep going.
truely badass stuff man, nice attention to detail. Only crit would be that you may wanna try and define a little more on the zombie head sculpt… so the narld stuff will pop, but at the same time so will your skull structure… i could see it getting a tad lsot at the moment.
Paszczak: Thank you!
Airflow: Thanks!
onelung: Thanks for responding! I actually plan on finishing the head once the lower body is further along. The screenshots I posted of the head are not finished and I plan on cleaning it up as there are areas that are pretty rough. In short, I agree with you and will be fixing the problems.
Thanks!

If the head is just roughed out I can’t wait to see the finished version! 79 million polys that’s insane!..I love all the detailing that’s gone into the armour and also attention to funtionality details, like how the armour connects to the palm of the hand. I’ll be following this thread.
good luck!
