More artz. I’ll be starting the model very soon. I think I have the artifact ironed out, just need to embellish it. More on that later…

Face Study! Crits welcome…

cool concept man …waiting for 3d

#23

that was simply amazing

Alright, started the base mesh work yesterday. Got quite a bit together before I called it quits. The body is solid, but the armor bits are just place holders to take a look at proportion and see if I like how she’s translating between dimensions. So far I am pleased, but her head/face is a bit rough, and I have a lot to go before I call the base mesh done.

She’s at about 4000 tris total now (not counting place holders), with her costume elements to be added yet. Honestly, I don’t know how the hell I’m gonna put the full 9 friggin thousand tris to good use, but I suppose I’ll manage.

critiques welcome, and requested- I would love some input.

hey man looking good. I like the color palette, it seems like ours could fight side by side! haha. I like the direction she’s going but i think i’d lose the horn on the head. If the face is going to be kinda half and half i think it would be more appealing w/out the horn imo. Model is coming along to, i gotta start on that asap! keep it up.

#26

Started with some quick rough sclpting, to work some things out. This is only a test, and very rough. I’m seeing a lot of bad spots that I’ll need to correct in the base mesh.

#27

nice start but is that a third boob I see?

#28

HAHA! No- it’s part of her armor but lacks the detail to make it look as such. Very rough, like I said.

Still here, still working.

Done some sculpting and retopoing since last post. I’m pleased with the progress on her armor, but I still have a LOT to do! Comments and critiques welcome!

Still kickin’. Deadline extension= miracle. More sculpt work. Gonna be wrapping up the last bits today, and roll out the textures over the next couple days, hopefully for the wrap up! comments appreciated!

Color Progress:

#33

wow looking really cool! :open_mouth:
only crit I can think of is the colour of the leather glove is a bit bland and might not go too well in the colour scheme  also even though the skin colouring is truely nicely done perhaps you need less of a just-washed-face-and-put-on-makeup look :stuck_out_tongue:
surely much of that’ll come in spec maps but how about quite alot of sooth in the diffuse?
atleast around the burning wound?

overall she looks very clean and neat which sort of draws down the intimidating effect of the lava elements imo

good luck!

#34

Thanks! I’m working on dirtying her up right now. Didnt sleep last night trying to get this stuff done, heh.

Gotta wrap up the colors ASAP though. What are the odds of me managing to finish coloring, UV map everything, extrapolate textures and normals, create specular/diffuse/incandecent/transparency maps, build shaders, put together a pedestal, rig, pose, and light and finally render in the next, oh, 24 hrs?

Yeah, that’s what I thought…

#35

dude your texture work is sweet big  keep at it.

Final Submissions:

In the end, I wish I had been able to refine textures more…but oh well.

This was fun and a hella experience. I wish everyone luck!
