DWIII - 2D - Sandz - Clericon of the Void

#1

Well, these are my initial concepts for a Clericon of the Dark/Void.
The ideas for these concepts are as follows: (starting left to right, top to bottom)

  1. Female Clericon - her artifact is a Void mirror that sucks the life force of its victims should they stare into it. I decided on more priestly looking vestments.
  2. male Clericon - Here, I decided to do an evil dwarf who wields a Void mace. More of a heavily armored look.
  3. Female Clericon- a bit more exotic in dress and with a mount.
  4. Female Clericon- The artifact is mounted on her helmet and serves as her “eye”. The scepter she holds serves as a lens to focus the energy from the “eye” to her targets.

I’ll do 2 more when I think of something. Probably something in the Undead or Demonic variety. Then time to pick! In the meantime, I’d like to hear comments and suggestions.

I like the first and the third one. You could really do some nice Egyptian accents with the first one and the mount on the third is pretty creative–a lizard and snake combo.

#3

i’m really diggin the mount on the third one and what you did with the fourth one. maybe, mix them up alittle bit

Hey Sandz, cool concepts mate. I like a lot the mirror idea for the artifact, and think the third concept is very original, but is difficult to make a decision. The design for the last female character its really great, mmmmmm … my vote is for number 3 and 4 :D. Looking forward for more updates!! Cheers mate!!

Hi Sanderson,

I really like all the females clerikons you have, And the void seems more proper for them haha! Also I have to say I like them all of them (1-3-4) if you take the best intriguing part…For example
Number 1 - Her outfit rocks! It’s like a kick ass Egyptian Goddess, and the mirror shape looks easier to get any opponent

Number 3- The lizard tale and the neck piece looks very intriguing

Number 4- The Helmet and the shoulder pads look amazing! And also the veil she’s wearing.

So that will be my conclusion of my vote haha!:D I’ll look forward for more updates!

Thanks everyone for the comments and suggestions!
So it looks like a toss up between #1, 3, and 4. hmmm…
Well, I should be posting a tweaked version of the designs in a day or so hopefully!

Love the last sketch. Reminds me great characters and I’d like to see somting i that line. Keep the good work.

Well, here’s the 1st of two designs narrowing it down. For this one, I’m not sure whether to go for the younger looking one or the older one. Color scheme wise, I’m still undecided as to a fiery red or a colder blue . Being representative of the Void, maybe blue grey? Suggestions are welcome!

The mirror still sucks souls and now the bottom is stuck to some poor guy's throat. XD

I’m also thinking about adding more jewelry, or is the ‘plain’ design sufficient? I intend to make a pattern for her clothes, I just haven’t decided on the design.

#9

I think for me i like the more older guy with the bluish color scheme but the orange is kinda strong. maybe something darker or less saturated

#10

Last of the 2 designs. Still deciding on a color scheme though

Well, not much time left. I wasnt really happy with the last design and wasnt able to think of anything for a while. But I’m pretty settled on this design (I have to be! The deadline is almost upon us!)

I decided to ditch the mount, ditch the impersonal looking “void eye”, but retain the sort of vestments of my initial 1st design, along with a modified headdress/helmet. The shoulder guards remain, modified. The mirror has been expanded. Its also a polearm now, the lens is indestructible (as befits an artifact of great power) and still sucks the souls from it’s victims. The veil from the initial design 4 has been incorporated here to form a sort of “beekeeper” look covering her entire face and neck. A new design is an armored misshapen left arm, covered in armor of sorts. I figured a little asymmetry would suit her better.

I dont know how to change my title for this thread, but I’ve decided to name her :
Iraszoun , Voidsister. Chosen by her order after a series of tests to deem worthiness to wield their sacred artifact - the Blade of Empty Visions. This artifact appeards as an oversized vanity mirror with sharp, jagged edges and is crafted from an ancient meteorite, polished to utter darkness and imbued with dark magics from the Void. It is indestructible and can be used by a skilled warrior as a polearm. Those who can access its darker magic can use it to trap a victim’s soul in the mirror, simply by having them stare at it even for a moment. Those whose strength of will are unable to withstand it are doomed, their physical remains left as empty husks, soon to die a soulless death. The more souls the Blade of Empty Visions acquires, the deadlier it becomes, with newer abilities to manifest in the future.
As for Iraszoun herself, she is a human who has undergone a transformation of body and spirit after having passed her trials in the Sisterhood of Emptiness. Her misshapen left arm can be used to land mighty blows belying her frail looking form. In addition to her skill with her artifact, Iraszoun also has her skills as a priestess of her order, able to manipulate spirit energy through the intercession of the Void. This allows her to cast spells of healing and destruction upon her foes. Physical combat is a last resort when you can steal someone’s soul with a glance.

Hi Sandeson,

Your lady of the void, looks really great , Like her name 2! Iraszoun , sounds intriguing as it should, as for the design; maybe the colors are still to premature I understand it a concept yet, but don’t know if this will be the winning pose I like the angle but she some how looks bored, maybe she should do some action with her mirror, then again there’s little time so go forward with whatever you feel comfortable with!

Keep up the good work!

#13

Well, here it is, the turn around shot and the money shot. No more time for me!
Good luck to everyone and a big “Thank You” to everyone who took the time to critique my work!

I’ll probably have to resize these to get to the 1000x1000 350k size though.

Great to see you have time to finish! That’s already big! And the concept of all your ideas and were fantastic! I really like the female power in all form so for sure I like this entry! And her evil mirror!
