Hi! I’m new here.
Allthough my skills don’t hold a candle to some i’ve seen around here i will try to do my best. Really don’t know where I’m giong with this yet, but i have some thoughts (masks? swirly stuff?). Can’t say if it will really turn into anything but can’t hurt to try.

Well, I’ve worked a little more on the idea of a mask as the artifact.
The mask is imbued with two lines ow runes that cross eachother. The runes will glow accordingly to spells casted by the one wearing the mask and empower them. The more runes that glow, the more power is added to the spell, so some spells are aided more than others.
The mask is fastened directly to the skin with series of small golden barbs, and this blood connection is what gives the magic link to the wearer as well. There is no “alignemet” as such to the mask, but some spells might be twisted from their original state when influenced by the mask-runes.
What do you say? Worth pursuing?
