DWIII - 2D - firka - AbyssMonster

#1

Hi everybody, here is my DW3 entry, a monster from the abyss…

Its my pleasure to join the WAR. I dont know how can I finish the concept, but I have the idea. These two just the first sketches about the main proportions. But nothing is fixed jet.

This one could be some kind of underwater monster, who is originaly just sleeping on the bottom of the sea, or/and counting the fishes. It is a kind of mutant turtle, with two bodyes, the smaller has the brain to controll the entire monster, like some kind of symbiosis. I think it will operate with fire or lava or dont know..

I hope at the weekend I will have time to work more on it..

   good luck to everyone!

Hi Laszlo,
The complementary colors are looking great, love the theme of your color palette, and the composition it’s all well planed! I think you can make it! Come on team! haha! And the robots are wicked! Kill them all!:wip:

thanks for the reply…
the colors are always a big challange for me… hard to find the balance, as you can see… but still trying…

Heya! Good start on the final illustration!
Colors are really hard.

First get your values (black and white) right, only than you can start working with color (or you really have to know what your doing). And start with one color, (orange) if you use it wise you can suggest blue (desaturated, almost grey). Wait with adding a second color untill the last moment, when the values and the saturation is right.
I believe it was Mullins who once said: form, value and composition are most important, then saturation and as very very last hue.

So I would suggest desatured the whole image by 100%. Get your values like you want them, than add a color layer and start adding saturation (dont overdo it :)) And as very last add some contrasting color.

Just some small advise, don’t feel obligated to use it in any way! Just do what you think is best. good luck!
