Duplicating Layer Position/Scale?

#1

Hey Guys,

I’ve a problem that’s driving me a bit crazy and I hope there’s an easy way out…

I have an image larger than the comp that i’m panning and scaling at the start of my scene.
I then have a really small image that I’d like to animate on top of the large image matching it’s scale / position movement (Panning).

I duplicate my original large layer, then ALT drag my new smaller image onto that layer which duplicates all of the said movements /scale. Problem is, when I try to position my new small layer/image I think the central scale / anchor point changes and it becomes screwed up.

I hope i’ve made myself clear, can anyone advise please? I don’t have anchor points animated btw!

Thanks in advance.

Hm, I can’t replicate the problem you’re having. When I swap my large image for a small one it animates as I would expect.

All your pivots are in the center of your images/layers?

That was the problem. I had a large image to start with and the pivot point was different for the smaller image/layer. Which mean’t it scaled to a different center point.

Problems solved rather easily. I used the parenting option to make the smaller image a parent of the larger layer. Worked fine.

Thanks for your efforts!
