Dune - Matte Painting Complete

Hi Guys

I have posted the final version of this matte Painting, thanks to David Luong, and Jaime Jasso’s advice. I have also included the original plate for comparison

Looks cool!! I would go a little warmer in the background buildings, especially to the left where it’s close to the sun (light wrap). Congrats!

Thanks David, Will do a little bit tweaks as you suggested, and then submit for Matte Painting 3 Book. Wish me luck!

I definitely feel the Dune in this image, and the sandstorm looks awesome!

Hi Sun, this looks great! Really nice lighting, and very powerful.

My only comment is the slight disparity between the huge storm rolling in, and what looks like quite a still, calm environment to the left of it. I’ve no idea of the physics behind sandstorms, but I’d expect to see a bit of sand blowing off the dune tops as the storm approaches and the wind picks up.

Fantastic work though - love it!

Very nice, Sun.
The only thing I have to add is that the top edge of the wall of sand feels slightly too harsh in the mid-ground. Nice work.
