DTS Utility & Torque - Using References

#1

Hi,

I’m trying to set up a development pipeline with a programmer for a game I’m working on, and I have to use DTS Utility to export shapes and sequences out to Torque (yes, I’ve read through the complete tutorials and reference guide on their website.)

Anyway, I can successfully import models and animations into Torque so there’s no problem there, except that I found DTS will not export animations using references. I wanted to know if there was a way to create animations for Torque using references, just in case I need to update the model later.

It would probably work better if the “Create Reference” function in Maya didn’t add those prefixes to the object names, but so far, I haven’t found a way to get rid of that.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. In fact, I wouldn't mind knowing how other people do it.
