does XSI support interface customization?

Hi Peoples,

Thinking of adding XSI to my arsenal, and learning on the demo right now. And it really seems like an awesome program. Love the viewport response rate and all the colourful nodes in ICE. But the interface is BUTT ugly. I mean i do not understand how you could make it so ugly. It’s like all grey and black. Lacks colour all together and even the color paletes that you can use to apply to objects in your scene are dull.

Are there any modifications to make the interface a bit sweeter?

cheers

No you can’t change interface colors.
I think the UI colors are of the philosophy that neutral grays and blacks will not distract from the wonderfully colorful things that you should be creating in the viewport.
I wouldn’t mind if they could be a little darker though.

oh I like it ! just because it’s grey !

but seriously, you can nearly rebuild the ui from scratch, including menus, and if you are extremely patient, you can even make your own icon for each toolbar’s buttons…

the only thing you won’t be able to change, is… this light grey !

btw, I’ve seen from the new features list of si 2010 that you can now do your own splash screen, so, maybe adsk is thinking of making the ui more “cosmeticable”…

Surprised where do linger the angry xsi gods that used to spread instant wrath over any attack against the interface that used to be so divine and sacred.

Seriously, by tinted shades. Many users would see more essential reformations over the software than coloured UI.
