A commercial like this was done using a motion control camera, camera matching, a 3D package and a compositor.
Sure, with a lot of keyframing/masking the composting part can be done in AE. The production pipeline probable used a more advanced compositor like Shake or Nuke though.

Absolutely.
Tricky part is probably the cloth sim for the car and the placing of invisible edits.

Why? I do’t see anything that AE wouldn’t be able to handle.
Anything advanced or complicated in this shot is done outside of the comp package.
