DJV Imaging 1.2

Hi everyone,

After a a bit of an absence I’m working on DJV Imaging again and have released a new version, 1.2. DJV Imaging is an open source flipbook player that works with both file sequences and movies, and supports a number of different formats including OpenEXR, DPX, and Cineon. There are versions for Linux, OS X, and Windows.

This version doesn’t have any new features, but fixes a number of bugs and includes the latest versions of OpenEXR and FFmpeg.

Here is a link to the website where you can find the downloads:

As always, feedback is welcome and very much appreciated!

Thanks, Darby

I just wanted to say thanks for the work! DJV is awesome, I’ve been using it for a while. Anyone that hasn’t used it should try it.

Again Thanks so much!

I can only second that - many thanks for your work and making it open source!

love it too, keep up your good work!

Thanks everyone! I’ll do another couple of bug-fix releases in the next month to pay down some of the technical debt and then I’ll get back to adding new features. I’m also working on a brand new version 2, but don’t want to say too much on that yet until I’ve made a bit more progress.

Hi all,

I just wanted to post a quick update that there is a new version available, 1.2.2.

The highlights for this release are:

  • Unicode support for file names
  • Playback performance has been improved by about 20-30% for high-resolution images
  • Fix for inverted color channels when exporting to ProRes
  • The CMake build system now supports building on Linux with system libraries
  • Source code is now also available on GitHub:

You can download the new version here:

The package names have changed a bit so I recommend uninstalling older versions before installing the new version.

Thanks, Darby
