Distributing a row of Vertices

#1

I was wondering if it were possible to evenly distribute a string of vertices along a given axis. Up until now I’ve had no reason to be this precise but I’m in the process of doing some technical drawing through blender…thanks for your help

I don’t think there is a way to do this yet, but you might ask around in the blenderartists python scripting forums. Sounds like something that could be easily scripted.

you may want to take a look at this script: http://blenderartists.org/forum/showthread.php?t=148728

for precision modeling in blender, may I suggest this mighty fine Precision Modeling PDF Guide book from Robert Burke?

I find it to include a lot of useful tips.

If you do a loop cut (Edit mode > CTRL+R > hold to side of mesh for purple line) you can use your scroll wheel to select how many cuts it will add, and they will be evenly spaced out. It’ll add more segments to your mesh, but I’m not sure if that’ll be an acceptable work-around for your situation.
