Displacement map generate out as flat color with no information

#1

When I generate out my displacement maps in ZB. They appear to be just a flat light brownish color. I have to take them into PS and apply a levels adjustment to them to be able to actually see the displaced information.

Is this normal or am I missing something.

I am generating to the lowest subdivision level and just using multi-map exporter. I cant upload an image right now, because I’m at work, but if want me to show you what its doing, I can upload it tonight.

Thanks for any help.

does the image name have the prefix letters DM on the psd?
DM = displacement map
displacement map are from white to black so no there should be no brownish,
you may have exported the wrong type of map.
try tool>displacement map>create DispMap
then clone Disp And export the image from the alpha pallet.

if your still having a problem it maybe the UV
try the zplugin UV-Master
then create your displacement map

Thank you so much for helping Informerman, your suggestion on the tool>displacement map>create map worked perfectly.

Thanks so much for taking the time.
