well, the products discreet has made it’s fame from, the so called systems products will keep the discreet title as part of their name, so you’d still recognize flame and so on. what kind of effect on sales could it possibly have? it’s a highend product anyway, those who need it would probably still buy it even if it was called ulead flame :wink:

however, i find it somewhat funny that they take that brand off 3ds max and combustion. to me that indicates that they are well aware of combustion’s lacking product quality and do not want it to be associated with their systems line. :smiley: no more little brother of FFI…

as for max, i don’t think it means much. sure, discreet brought some “coolness” to max in comparison to the old kinetix brand but that’s just how far it goes. in the end it’s just a product and one that can stand on it’s own just as well. never fit in to the unix based hi-end product line anyway.
