I just took the plunge to work on my CG Short Film full time and I just thought I’d post this work in progress for you guys. This isn’t all my work, by any means, my shots join the growing ranks of about 40 animators who’ve lent their talent to the film.

We’re over half way through production now and going strong!
Great work, I can tell you and your team have been working really hard.
After watching the animatic I find my mind trying to understand whats going on a lot.
It feels like the story is weak or just unclear at this stage. In the teaser I see a lot of conflict but cant make out exactly what the character motives are. Its actually even worse during the animatic.
Are you planning to bring in some voices or narrative, or is there something that leads us to what we have seen so far??
So curious, looking forward.
Thanks for the feedback Rasamaya. It’s a work in progress but it’s not the first time I’ve heard notes like this and I’m doing my best to make it as good as it can be. Clearly as we show the film incomplete some people are going to be confused about some things that aren’t finished yet, but if you don’t mind taking a little time on it I’d love to hear your notes. For example, what didn’t make sense? When did you get confused? Were you listening to the sound?

I can like and enjoy anything animated, but I felt you wanted brutal honesty.
Its only my opinion, and my eye is not nearly as good as yours, but it is fresh.
so, watching the animatic…
Up to the title: I am thinking too much now lol. Looking I see heavenly and the cemetery in the clouds? Then someone gets taken away? Then I see the Title and soften up, thinking oh its a game show with Devils and Angels.
Not totally clear on that.
I feel something is needed to establish that, so that I am not thinking about it when I see your characters. I would rather spend that time connecting with them.
I know its a short, but perhaps they are revealed to soon?
How did they get there? It seems like a spontaneous “oh look at that hottie, on the street situation”; not a “next contestant introduction.” Im not saying there has to be… just sayin.
The foreshadowing of the first contestant vanishing and the halo flying to the devil, helps communicate a lot.
It took me till now(seeing it my 4th or 5th time over the year to realize, the names popping up are not for the old angel and death girl, those are people on earth… perhaps show, them rising from the earth(up those tubes, with more than two names).
So its not a game show lol. see. Im not the brightest crayon, but still, I shouldn’t have to be right.
ok, why does devil loose it, and what is he doing exactly, when he is blasting? Why does death woman have to react that way and what is she doing exactly?
I can make up my own story, from thinking a lot, but I was really hoping to see yours and connect with the characters more.
Im not reading over what I just wrote until tomorrow. Im a little tired.
I have good things to say too, but I am sure others point those out
