I have a scene with a spaceship and engine trails i created using nparticles (particleCloud) and am using mentalray in maya 2013.
I want to do a depth of field effect in after effects and need the z depth for that. I tried using a depth pass (camera depth with the near and far clipping plane adjusted correctly) and while it works fine for the spaceship, the engine trails don’t show up in the z depth. Except the Spaceship everything else is black.
Is there an easy way to get the particle clouds to show up in the depth pass or is there another way to create a z depth layer for all objects and particles in the scene at the same time?
