Depth map usage problem

#1

Dear Forumers,

I have a brief question about something I cannot figure.

I have an image seq and the equivalent depth map. How do I setup Nuke nodes to spit out two versions of the images seq, one with only the image that is behind a specific depth and one with only the image that is in front of that same depth?

Thanks,

5DN.

One of the ways can be like this:

  1. Unpremultiply both the image and the depth
  2. Apply the Keyer node to the Depth and set the ranges so that the desired separation depth is the separation between black and white in the result of the Keyer.
  3. Feed your image to a Merge’s A input and the result of the Keyer to the Mask input, set the appropriate channel in the mask settings of the Merge.
  4. Do the same with another merge, switch on the “Invert” checkbox in the mask settings of the other merge.
