Demo Reel WIP

#1

Hello. I made this demo reel in college, I choose Animation because it seemed much easier for me to work with. Since I didn’t know how to rig, I used pre-rigged models shown in the credits. I downloaded them from CreativeCrash. http://vimeo.com/21200417 there is the link to my demo reel. I made sure I gave credit to the makers of the models and rigs. What I have in here is Walk and Run Cycles, Boucning Ball with and without a tail, next I did a character interaction scene, I’ve done heavy box lifting, Lipsyncing, four legged jump, and stretching.

hi! you still need a lot of work in animation but you started good.

in the animation with the balls you need to put a floor so that we can feel the weight in the animation, other then that it seems that they are floating.

other thing, try a simpler intro in you reel, like fade in fade out your name and contacts. you dont need those effects really.

i hoope i dont sound too harsh on you, i just think you need to work more your reel. try buying the book "The Animator’s Survival Kit: A Manual of Methods, Principles, and Formulas for Classical, Computer, Games, Stop Motion, and Internet Animators". It is easy to read and explain very well how to animate. give it a try.

best regards

Hi Yukosera

asmodai before me gave very good advice.

The one thing that strikes me is that you are try to do too much, too fast. I have the impression that your foundation and understanding of the principles of animation are still not solid enough to be doing box lifts or walkcycles.

The main purpose of simple exercises like the bouncing ball and pendulum is to make you understand the principles. I don’t want to sound mean but I think you have to go back and take another look at your bouncing ball.
Some good links are:

Good luck and post more work here, I look forward to seeing you improve.
