Demo Reel shots

#1

Hi guys,

2 weeks until graduation from VanArts’s visual effects program. (classmate with Rohit!)

Here’s a link to my blog, the top 3 shots (Alley, Temple, Spacedock) are going on for sure.

The sunset and forest ones I’m not sure.

Looking forward to your critiques

Thanks!

Hello Stephanie :wavey:

Keep in mind that a reel with 2 strong shots is better than having 2 strong shots plus 1 not as strong shot :wise:
I know it can be hard to decide :banghead: but in general the more photo-real something looks, the better it is. Judging which shots to include also reflects your artistic proficiency :arteest:and how well your “eye” is trained.

Enjoy your last week of school.

And make sure you have a Vimeo, as it is currently the preferred platform over YouTube and allows easier access for most.

I have my videos on vimeo, but the basic account only allows 1 HD video uploaded per week. I could upgrade my account but it’s pricey for a poor student :stuck_out_tongue:

Allo Stephanie,

Another fellow alumni of Milan’s school  Seema and Milan have great tips. If you needed to upload your HD videos now while looking for a job, it might be worth it to upgrade to Plus (which is 9.99 a month) then you get priority transcoding after you upload your video, enabling you to get views faster and sooner. If you can wait, that’s fine.

But if you’re trying to get a demo reel up, just one well edited HD video is all that’s needed, instead of many separate ones, which is more secondary to the main, solid reel.
