Demo Reel: Rigging, Modeling, Texturing

Here’s my demonstration reel. All of the content is created for my short film at www.theladyandthelion.com.

pretty cool demo , althought it needs some revision , your blendshapes could use a little work , but my only main distraction was the proportions of your girl , i understand if you mighjt have wanted to go for a heavier girl but then when people are a big heavy it is all proportional to the rest of the figure, her mid section (stomach area + butt) look way to big for the rest of her , if you want her to look a big heavier then beef up the rest of her body. other than that i think it was well excecuted , but yeah might want to go back and fix some stuff before sending this thing out ,

Agree with rayfusion on the girl.
And I noticed that the pupils shut a bit too tight in the light. You never see so much of the iris, even if you’re looking almost straight into the sun…
And add some good music and it’s twice as nice :rolleyes:

Thanks for viewing and commenting! The proportions of the girl are conceptually set in place. They’ll be subjected to modification as I rig and setup deformations. In truth, I’ve met many woman with these proportions.

AlexandreM, no, I’m sorry I don’t know of a resource that shows how I did this exactly. However, there are resources I referenced when making the rig. This is the key resource:

I’ve also spent much of time since October making Flash scripts, so this all sort of fell into my hands when I re-read that thread.
Another key aspect for my rig is a careful use of hierarchies; simple controlling parent and child relationships.

i made that kind of rig in xsi , once you do it a few times its actually very simple , only hard part is modeling your blendshapes so they look good and mix well , the setup itself is easy , im working on a 2 part video series on facial animation using a similar setup right now , look for it soon in the softimage forum , cheers

thank you for the link, I’ll take the time to read the technical stuff I can found in it. The video isn’t available but the text is still there! Im a maya user so it might be a lil different but generally its easy to translate rigging system to maya when you know how its work.

I was asking a question because my actual facial setup is inspired from a book ‘Stop Staring’ (from Jason Osipa) and the interface is quite similar.
