Demo or trial version?

#1

Where can I find a demo or trial version of Zbrush? All I can find is a purchase page.

Thanks

As far as I can see, they stopped doing trial versions 2 years ago:

http://www.pixologic.com/zbrush/trial/

That’s a lot of cash to spend before I even get to try it out. Even car dealers will let you take a Benz for a test drive before you buy. What’s their reasoning on this?

this may work and may not,
try downloading it and see if it will run in demo mode,
thats if you can find a download

I emailed their support and this was their response:

Thank you for your interest in ZBrush!

We do not have a Trial of ZBrush at the present time. I haven’t been given any information regarding when we might start one up again. For now, the best that I can say is that we do have a 30 day return policy should you purchase ZBrush and decide that it’s not suitable for your needs. So you could definitely try ZBrush without risk, even without the Trial.

So basically their policy is “buy before you try.”

There’s nothing to download. You have to buy the full version first.

They stopped the trial because they instead offer a full version of sculptris. Its not the same, but its a powerful app and and can help you make the decision of getting into sculpting or not. It won’t help you decide between zbrush and mudbox though.
