Define Brush preset

I’m having a little bit of a problem and it’s driving me crazy. I’m trying to make a new brush using a photo. The image is on a white background and went I selct it from the square marque tool, the define brush preset tool isn’t available. I only have define pattern available. What am I doing wrong?

Please help!

Never mind, I figured it out. The image was larger than the max brush size (2500)
